Well, the summer started off with me still not working..... so little miss ashlee got to have more fun at home with her mommy.... At the beginning of June, we went to Vancouver for 3 days with my dad and stepmom for Tom's graduation from Simon Fraser University. we had a great trip, and ashlee did very well in the car for that long (6 hrs each way). we got to stay right downtown Van, in Uncle tom's guest suite in his highrise condo building. very fun!


Middle of june was maddy's birthday and father's day. :) we took my dad out to armstrong for the train ride, and went to the mini-horse farm. ok, so maybe this was more for ashlee, then my dad, but he seemed to love it!

at the end of June, we went down to Osoyoos lake and stayed at my friend jackie's lake house for a weekend. what a gorgeous place. so beautiful and relaxing. ashlee had a great time playing with her 3 girls, and it was nice to catch up with jackie again.

In July, I went back to school... and Ashlee's daycare went on holidays for 5 weeks, so miss ashlee got to spend extra time with granny, and nana... and some days, Tianna babysat her. :) Ashlee loved all this. In the beginning of august, sam came to visit ashlee again, and be her "daycare" for a week, while i was in the last week of my summer classes.



then the last 2 weeks of august, i was on holidays, and my brother, todd came out from alberta with his family. it was GREAT fun!!! Kyan, who is 2.5 yrs old, and ashlee were inseperable!! he is just young enough to follow ashlee's every command. pretty cute!!! i think ashlee taught him some bad tricks, but SHHHH! don't tell anyone! :) Todd and Jamie also had their second son in June, so we got to meet Abel for the first time. what a cutie! he is a really good baby, very content to just hang out and cuddle. :)




so that is it for us.....
Ashlee is doing great overall. she has grown like crazy!! she moved into a booster seat in the car, and loves it. she is talking up a storm, and loves to "read" me and her stuffies, stories and books. she is a very helpful child, and will cook dinner with me, do the laundry, feed the cats, you name it, she wants to help do it!
a recent funny story:.. we were at my dad's, and went for a walk... well, we happened along a trampoline, so ashlee stopped to jump on it... as she is jumping she bounced in a circle or something, and then proclaims to us "i'm amazing"
hahahah. we all died laughing, but had to agree.....

she really is amazing!!! and i couldn't love her more!

during the first week of april, ashlee's dad came to visit her. they had a good time! it had been almost a year, so i was surprised at how well she did with him. I really do have a great child. she is very well adjusted, and thoughtful and caring. :)

Sam enjoyed his time with her too. She has changed and grown sooo much since he last saw her! he was very impressed with how smart she is. says she is smarter than some 5 and 6 yr olds that he knows :)

hello hello hello...

finally got ashlee in to the doctor for her 3 yr checkup. All is well :) she is 39 inches tall, and 16 kg (about 35 lbs). :) Doctor was impressed with everything. so that is great. :)
Ashlee also got to have her first dentist appt this past month and passed with flying colors. :) she let the lady clean her teeth, and even sat with the fluoride trays like a champ!
ANNND... while momma was at it, we scheduled her for her first eye appt too :) et voila, she can see just fine, no glasses needed here!

yes, we have been busy busy busy!

the other big big news. Mimi (her soother/binky/sucky) got "lost"... poor thing! but Ashlee has handled it way better than I expected. I think Momma might have been more upset than her! haha! it has been a week, and i think it is safe to say, that "mimi" is gone for good! whew!! it was about time. but it makes me sad, cuz it is just one more baby thing that is gone, and shows me that she is really a little girl now. *sighs*

She is very excited about Easter coming this weekend, and has been talking about the easter bunny for the last 2 weeks. She wants to hid eggs for the bunny to find! haha!

Ashlee is just growing up much too fast for me...

the other day, on the way to Bonnie's house (daycare) we had this conversation.

ashlee: mummy, can i tell you something?
me: yes, you can.
ashlee: i a big girl. big girls no ride in car seats.

hrmm......

i didn't break it to her, but canada just passed some law, and she will probably be in some sort of "car seat (booster)" until she is like 10 yrs old! yikes!!!
and to think, i grew up without ever riding in a carseat!

she really enjoyed it, and did SO well. didn't fall once. :)

Hello everyone....

it is already TWO weeks into the new year... where does the time fly?

Ashlee has started the year off very well.... is healthy (finally over her cold) and partying up a storm! she is very excited about her upcoming birthday, and talks non-stop about her "party" and "presents" and "friends"..... so i guess mommy better plan a good one, eh?

She got to spend a few days with papa and granny, as mommy had to travel to toronto again, and she loved that. helped papa with the doggies, and enjoyed time in the hot tub, and doing puzzles with granny!

we also went with a bunch of friends to another hockey game. that is fast becoming one of her favorite things!! she LOVES hockey!! we got her some skates, so now just need to find the time to get her out on the ice. :)
